ICGNC 2024 was Successfully Held!
The 2024 International Conference on Guidance, Navigation and Control (ICGNC 2024) [2024 国际制导、导航与控制学术会议] will be held in Changsha (长沙) on August 9-11, 2024 , following the successes of previous ten events.International Conference on Guidance, Navigation and Control (ICGNC) is a biennial event, which is also one of the leading events in Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC). ICGNC 2024 is sponsored by Technical Committee on Guidance, Navigation and Control (TCGNC), Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics (CSAA), and National Key Laboratory of Aircraft Integrated Flight Control. It is technically co-sponsored by State Key Laboratory of Virtual Reality Technology and Systems, Technical Committee on Navigation, Guidance and Control (TCNGC), Chinese Association of Automation (CAA), Technical Committee on Unmanned Aerial Systems Autonomous Control (TCUASAC), Chinese Association of Automation (CAA), Technical Committee on Control Theory (TCCT), Chinese Association of Automation (CAA), Technical Committee on Robotics Intelligence (TCRI),Chinese Association of Automation (CAA), Education Committee(EC), Chinese Association of Automation (CAA),and《Guidance Navigation and Control》Editorial Office. ICGNC 2024 is organized by National University of Defense Technology. The conference consists of pre-conference tutorials, plenary talks, chief designer forum, national famous teacher forum, panel discussions, invited sessions, oral sessions, abstract sessions, and poster sessions for academic exchanges. This conference has accepted more than 1300 academic papers from 12 countries and regions, and has attracted over 1500 participants.
The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Professor Jun Yang, the General President of this conference, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the National University of Defense Technology, and Director of the Research Department. Haibing Zhou, Vice Governor of Hunan Province and Mayor of Changsha, attended the ceremony and extended sincere welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the guests. He pointed out that in recent years, Changsha has thoroughly studied and implemented the important speeches and instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of Hunan, aimed at the "three highs and four news" vision, vigorously implemented the innovation-driven development strategy, accelerated the construction of a global R&D center city, and strived to build a comprehensive, full-chain, and full-coverage policy service and guarantee system for R&D institutions and talents, creating a good innovation ecosystem. Changsha's innovation capability has ranked among the top tier of China's innovative cities for three consecutive years, marking solid steps towards building a technology innovation highland with core competitiveness. The International Conference on Guidance, Navigation, and Control provides a high-level interdisciplinary academic exchange platform for researchers. He expressed his expectation that the participants would freely express their opinions, exchange ideas, and jointly explore the frontier hotspots and key technologies in key discipline areas through discussions. He also sincerely invited experts and entrepreneurs from both home and abroad to participate in the construction of Changsha's global R&D center city. Changsha will fully provide attentive services and create a favorable environment to work together with everyone to create a better future.
Zuoming Lin, a member of the 18th Central Committee of the CPC, former Chairman and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), and President of the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics (CSAA), attended the conference and delivered a speech. On behalf of the CSAA, he extended warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the guests. Zuoming Lin pointed out that after years of efforts, the Guidance, Navigation, and Control Branch has flourished into a veritable benchmark branch of the CSAA. The International Conference on Guidance, Navigation, and Control, hosted by the Branch, has evolved from a domestic event focused purely on academic paper exchanges to an international academic and technological feast deeply integrating industrial sectors and universities.
Professor Jinhu Lv, Vice President of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA), which is the supporting unit of the National Key Laboratory of Integrated Flight Control System, and also the Vice Chairman of the conference. Colonel Xiaobin Jia, Political Commissar of the College of Intelligent Science, National University of Defense Technology (NUDT), which is the organizing unit of the conference, respectively delivered speeches on behalf of their respective institutions, congratulating on the successful convening of the conference. At the opening ceremony, Professor Haibin Duan, Director of the Guidance, Navigation, and Control Branch of the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics (CSAA) and Executive Chairman of the conference, introduced the receipt of papers, conference proceedings, and organization of this year's conference. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the guests and delegates for their strong support and firmly believed that everyone would make the most of the International Conference on Guidance, Navigation, and Control as a platform and stage for exchange, learning, mutual progress, and striving forward. He encouraged everyone to boldly venture into the "alpine zones" and "uninhabited regions" of the GNC discipline and contribute to achieving true high-level technological innovation and self-reliance in the GNC field. During the opening ceremony, the Best Paper Awards for 2022 and 2023 were presented for the journal "Guidance, Navigation, and Control," which is sponsored by the Guidance, Navigation, and Control Branch of the CSAA. Professor Bin Jiang, Editor-in-Chief of the journal and Chairman of the Award Evaluation Committee, from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, presented the awards to the representatives of the winning paper authors.
